King and Queen of the Bands

Some carnival bands are led or ruled by large costumes that requires great skill, craftsmanship and ingenuity to design and construct. These Kings and Queens are directly linked to the theme portrayed by the band for the particular year.  The display of the costume is accompanied by narratives, dance sequences, flashing lights, fireworks and sometimes fire-eaters, limbo dancers, stilt walkers and acrobats who all take part in the amazing visual story telling. These costumes often require extensions, wheels and expert engineering to assist the masquerader who carries it on stage and through the streets during the carnival parade.
